and itinerant ministry

Greetings! My name is Josephine Bartley, I was born in the semi-rural town of Kelmscott, Western Australia and at the tender age of 8 I invited the Lord Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. My parents attended St Mary’s in the Valley Anglican church from the time I was born until I left home to pursue a ballet career in Dance at the age of 14, I have been steadily and faithfully walking with the Lord.

In 1978 I was offered a scholarship to study Dance in at the Victorian College of the Arts School of Dance and at 17 was accepted into the Australian Ballet Company, one of the youngest to ever be accepted, and the first student accepted into the company without having gone through the Australian Ballet School.

A year later I was offered to play the leading female role ‘Kerrie Dean’ in the major motion movie called 'The Coolangatta Gold'.  I travelled extensively throughout Australia promoting the movie on Good morning Australia, and various radio and TV stations, opening up the doors to more TV commercials and acting roles. At the age of 31 I answered the call of God to enter full-time ministry, I moved from Melbourne to Perth, and met my darling husband, Trevor Bartley while at Bible College. I completed a Diploma of theology over 6 years at Riverview Bible College in Perth, then assisted Trevor and completed Lifestyle Training school 2 years later, and finally after completing a Diploma in Ministry and Biblical studies at Rhema Bible Training School in Brisbane, Queensland in 2010, I was ready to pioneer a church.

In 2010, my husband Ps Trevor Bartley and I became Co-Senior pastors of ‘Faith Works International’, our first church plant in the Lockyer Valley Queensland.  My gifting's include evangelism, preaching and bringing a message of hope, a word in season, to each church God sends me to. After one year of regular preaching, and serving as a chaplain in Rosewood and Marburg schools, God began to open doors for me to preach in churches throughout the Lockyer Valley, with the purpose of bringing unity, and building up and encouraging the body of Christ in general.

In 2012, I was asked to be the main speaker for the Marburg Carols by Candlelight in which 300 people attended and we had a successful altar call, over 20 came to the Lord. Over the year I have led over 200 people to the Lord, my prayer is that God will increase my gifting to leading people to Christ and expand His territory.

At the end of 2013, I believed God wanted me to start a ministry 'Women of Faith International'.  Our first women's conference ‘What about Women’ was held in Plainland, on November nine and was so successful that the women asked if this could be a regular occurrence each year.  Our hope Internationaly is to bring the knowledge and experience we have attained as a ‘Women of Faith’ team and take it to all churches and our church plants that are currently in Africa and Pakistan.

I have been serving in ministry for 19 years, some of my roles have included being PA to the Senior pastor, Co-coordinator, choreographer for Dynamic Dance Ministries, as well as writing the Diploma of Dance Ministry at Unity College, which was utilised by Christian Dance Fellowship of Australia, Bible College administrator and lecturer, Care and Connect Pastor for New people, Kidzchurch pastor, worship leader, Director for two ministry boards, and Senior co-pastor with Trevor Bartley at 'Faith works International' in Plainland, Queensland.

I am passionate about seeing Women reach their fullest potential in Christ, I enjoy travelling and ministering to people cross-culturally from any denomination that professes Jesus as Lord. My deepest desire is to equip the saints for the work of ministry to be effective in sharing the gospel in their communities. I love to inspire and motivate Christians while delivering a message of hope and love to the body of Christ during these end-time days and trying times.

May God continually bless you and give you the Grace you need to achieve all His plans and purposes for your life.

Bless you,

Ps Jo Bartley
